In the last week, the beta testers with premade characters were allowed to make the molten core and onyxias Hort from WoW: season of the championship for the first time. The framework conditions promised by the developers:
The World Buff Ban in Raids is active. The debuff limit of 16 weakening effects on one goal is no longer active. The bosses in Onyxias Hort and in the molten core have more lifestyles.
Several RAID mechanics from the original vanilla version were restored.
And how did all these things look like? So:
All battles lasted noticeably longer (about four times as long as in WoW Classic), but they were not really heavier. From additional RAID mechanics, the players hardly noticed anything. Only at Onyxia there was a disorienting Feuerbrunst-Spell, which it did not exist in Classic. And with Ragnaros, the Raidgrupps had to clear due to the significantly longer struggle times with the sons phases (which led to tens of wipes). Most bosse could continue to be fueled by Fury Prot warriors, but that was not really necessary because the damage splitters have not produced as much threat as with World Buffs in Classic. Warriors and rogues dominated the DPS meter in many bosses.
Does everything sound quite sobering, right? Well, however, this was not the final versions of the RAID instances. In the official forum, Community Manager Kaivax introduced further amendments. But first he acknowledged that in the course of the Vanilla era did not exist as many adjustments to the boss mechanics (that came first in a big style with Burning Crusade):
Onyxia extends your fireballs around the already mentioned Feuerbrunst effect when you go into the air. At Golemagg, there was an earthquake capability temporarily. Ragnaros set one of his attacks much more often, and he could only be grilled each ID for a while.
In the course of the first test, Blizzard now wanted to find out how the bosses play when they retain these few mechanics and possess significantly more life points. The result, which was expected from Blizzard: Only in this way is the goal of a bigger challenge can not be achieved. With the next beta build, Blizzard will implement other, noticeable adjustments to all encounters in MC and Onyxias Hort.
As these look in detail, unfortunately, Kaitax does not reveal. However, he explains that it is by no means the goal of these adjustments that experienced Classic Raidgrupps in the Phase 1 instances wipe days or weeks. You can not expect any mechanics through which all fights feel completely different. How that everything fits under a hat, that should be allowed to try at the next RAID tests next Thursday.
